The 20/40-GB DAT DDS-4 8 Cassette Autoloader is perfect for the customer who needs to backup their corporate servers ranging from the workgroup to departmental server environments.
The DDS-4 Autoloader is a tape drive inside of an enclosure that holds a magazine with eight data cassettes or seven data cassettes and a cleaning cassette. With these configurations native capacity can range from 140 GB to 160 GB; with a 2:1 compression ratio the capacity increases with up to 320 GB of storage capacity.

Autoloaders are intended for Low Administrative Backups which means the customer loads the magazine and the software does the rest for an entire week. Meaning, the tape drive will perform a total system backup on the first day, incremental backups on day two through seven and a cleaning on day seven. This ensures the customer has the most up to date data in a reduced backup window situation. The software is configurable in many ways to meet the customer backup demands; this is only a sample configuration.

If the customer's backup window is not restricted, a total backup can be performed on days one through seven with a cleaning on day seven. This will save time incase of a restore because now you only have to restore one tape.

SSL2020 AIT library is a single or dual drive library that offers 1 Terabyte (native) of storage in a 4U tabletop or rack configuration. This library also offers scalability and flexibility as storage needs grow. The library modules can be stacked five high to give the customer up to 10 Terabytes of storage within a 20U space. By stacking the modules the customer can build a 10 drives solution that holds 100 data cassettes, which gives them higher capacity and greater performance.
The SSL2020 is qualified with Windows NT and Windows 2000, NetWare, Tru64 UNIX and OpenVMS operating systems, as well as Compaq ProLiant and AlphaServer product lines. To round out this solution, Compaq includes live trial software from leading software vendors such as VERITAS and Computer Associates.

Compaq StorageWorks™ TL891DLX is an enhancement to the TL891 mainstream tape library. It provides the same flexibility and scalability, with the advantage of greater capacity and higher backup speed using the Compaq 40/80 GB DLT drive and LVD SCSI interface.
The TL891DLX is supported under the Compaq Enterprise Backup Solution (EBS) *.
