About the LTO-4 Tape Drive
The Tandberg Data LTO Tape Drive, featuring LTO-1, LTO-2, LTO-3, or LTO-4 tape drive technology, offers break-throughs in reliability, capacity and performance to meet the backup and archival needs for small to midrange environments. With its higher performance and capacity, the Tandberg Data LTO Tape Drive is an ideal compliment to small rack mounted servers and automation by providing compatible desktop backup for smaller workstations.

Our LTO Tape Drive with LTO-1 is a half-height (HH) form factor that is read/write compatible with all LTO-1 media. The HH LTO-2 Tape Drive is read/write compatible with LTO-1 media, allowing seamless use with LTO-1 drives. The LTO Tape Drive with LTO-3 is a HH or full-height (FH) form factor that is read/write compatible with LTO-2 media, and will read LTO-1 media, resulting in strong Return on Investment (ROI) and low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in your LTO media tape storage investment. The FH LTO-4 Tape Drive is read/write compatible with all LTO-3 media, and will read LTO-2 media, again resulting in strong Return on Investment (ROI) and low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in your LTO media tape storage investment.

The Tandberg LTO-4 FH includes data encryption capabilities within the drive, helping to avoid the need for host-based encryption of data or the use of specialized encryption appliances. High reliability with Adaptive Tape Threading
The Tandberg Data LTO drives features Adaptive Tape Threading which helps to protect against load failures with 8 independent sensor readings, which provide input to enhanced firmware. By verifying tape speed and tape spinning wheel, modulating the thread profile to help provide tension control, using thread algorithm to help detect damaged cartridges and including a unique design that prevents accidental pulling of the leader pin, the Tandberg Data LTO drives offer high reliability, required in medium and large enterprises.
